How will the service help me?

Our Travel Health Services enables you to get all the travel health information, vaccinations and antimalarials you need to enjoy a healthy trip aboard.  We work closely with MASTA, a leading specialist in travel health, to make sure that advice is tailored to you and your trip.

How does the service work?

It's easy to check if the service is right for you and your family*, follow these simple steps to get started:

1.    Go online to www.masta-travel-health.com pr call 03301004106

2.    Book your telephone consultation with one of MASTA'S specialist travel health nurses who will generate a travel health plan tailored to you and your trip.

3.    The travel health nurse will book an appointment for you at your chosen local pharmacy where you will receive your vaccinations, antimalarials and advice to help you have a safe trip.

The service is available at our Locks Heath, Cosham and St Luke's pharmacy branches

Do you have a repeat prescription?                                                                                       

Did you know that every day GP’s in the UK issue 1.5 million paper prescriptions and 70% of these are repeat prescriptions?

Electronic Prescription Service


A new system has been created to make it easier for you to pick up your repeat prescription. It is called the Electronic Prescription Service, or EPS for short.

The Electronic Prescription Service is an NHS service that sends your prescription from GP surgery to Pharmacy without the need for a paper copy.

Nominate a pharmacy of your choice and this pharmacy will receive your prescription directly from your GP, via the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).

With EPS you will not have to visit your practice to pick up your paper prescription anymore.

You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because you can choose a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.

EPS is reliable, secure and confidential.

Your electronic prescription will only be seen by the same people in GP practices and pharmacies who see your paper prescription now.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: This position is responsible for completing activities in connection with retail sales and will provide advice to customers on the use of medicines as well as on general health and lifestyle matters, under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist and / or Sales Supervisor.



  1. Conducts retail sales to a high standard of customer service, in accordance with store retail procedures.
  2. Operates the till accurately and handles money in a safe and secure manner, including assisting with cashing up and preparing takings for banking
  3. Ensures the safe selling of medicines under the supervision of the Pharmacist
  4. Helps customers to complete prescription forms correctly
  5. Assists with the receipt and collection of prescriptions
  6. Ensures compliance with confidentiality and patient data systems
  7. Maintains up-to-date product knowledge and understanding of pharmacy/retail  issues, to deal effectively with sales enquiries
  8. Assists in receiving deliveries and checks dispatch notes
  9. Accurately prices stock and ensures proper stock rotation
  10. Performs purchasing, stock control and inventory procedures, as directed by Pharmacist and/or Sales Supervisor
  11. Prepares orders for transmitting or to give to company representatives
  12. Maintains displays and effectively merchandises stock, in accordance with Company policies and procedures
  13. Completes housekeeping activities to keep the store, retail displays and stock in good condition
  14. Maintains a good level of personal presentation
  15. Ensures safe and appropriate storage of retail stock and medication
  16. Works as part of a team, actively supporting other shop and dispensary staff to achieve the overall business objectives.
  17. Provides accurate advice to patients on the use of medicines, where appropriate, under direct supervision of the Pharmacist and/or Sales Supervisor.
  18. Greets visitors and telephone callers to Store, with a high level of customer service.
  19. Keeps abreast of new developments, methods, techniques and products in the retail and community pharmacy industry.
  20. Commits to continuing professional development and training.
  21. Familiarise themselves and at all times work with due regard to the requirements of the company Health and Safety policy.
  22. Co-operate, support and work with supervisors/managers in meeting their health and safety responsibilities and requirements as set out in the Health and Safety at work Act 1974. Drawing to supervisors/managers attention any health and safety problems or deficiences.
  23. Performs any other duties as may be reasonably required by manager.
